Healthy Breakfast- Foul Mudames

Not only food, but the entire life style – there’s a lot to learn from the huge globe we live in. Egypt is well known for happy and patriotic souls. But one of the many reasons to their happy life style should surely be their food.

FOUL MUDAMES. Every Egyptian loves to have a full and healthy breakfast every morning. It’s one of the foods that have a wonderful blend of taste and energy.

INGRIDIENTS:

1 can fava beans

2 large minced garlic

Salt –to taste

½ cup lemon

2 large tomatoes (chopped)

½ cup parsley (chopped)

Pepper – to taste

¼ cup virgin olive oil

DIRECTIONS:

In a pot, warm 1 can of fava beans for around 10 minuits. Add the chopped tomatoes and allow it to cook further. Once the tomatoes are cooked well, add the minced garlic, lemon juice and required salt and combine the flavour with the fava beans. Blindly mash half of the beans to let out its starch and give out the flavour. After you get a thick gravy, add chopped parsley, olive oil and pepper to give it a finish.

Serve with pita bread or fresh cut vegetables and olives.

 

This healthy bean dish is full of protein and fibre. Its best served as a breakfast since it gives instant energy for the entire day.
